My TOP 3 Corfu Guide πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·

Hey travel buddies,

I recently spent two weeks on the greek island Corfu. In this Top 3 blog post you find my TOP 3 of worth knowing Corfu facts, accommodation tipps, beaches, view points and vegan food spots. Enjoy reading. πŸ’—

3 worth knowing Corfu Facts πŸ’

1. Corfu is quite small (only 64 kms long and 32 km wide) so it gets easy to explore the island by car, scooter or quad.

2. The runway at the airport is really special! Because it´s directly at the ocean. You only see water under the plane until suddenly the runway appears.
(By the way, the cheapest way getting from the airport to your accommodation is walking to the green bus terminal in corfu town and take one of the green travel busses to your place on the island. It´s around 2-4€ per person).

3. The best travel time is around May/June and Septembre. A local told me that during July and August it gets really hot and full.

3 Tipps for your accommodation 🏨

1. For the perfect location to stay: look at the northern half of the west coast! You will be near to many beautiful beaches, amazing nature and perfect view points!

2. North coast is mainly touristy. Party places, many restaurants, hotels, Instagram famous spots (like Canal d´ amour) and full beaches.

3. The south dosn´t have many special beaches. A day trip is good to explore but it´s not my place to stay.

Top 3 beaches πŸ–

1. Most favourite one: Mirtiotissa Beach! Important information first: it´s a nudism beach. Not everyone is naked here but most! It´s a rather small beach with a stunning view on the rocks! Inside the water are no stones, just pure fine sand. Percet for swimming! If you look closely, you can spot some tiny fishes under the water.

2. Another love story: Rovinia Beach! It´s like a bay with crystal clear blue water and such a nice natural environment! Make sure to look to the right for a magic view on the Liapades Beach on your way down!

3. Swimming and snorkeling at: Avlaki Beach! This one is a little bit hidden and also very wide which I like for having some space for ourself.

3 favourite view points πŸŒ…

1. Castle Angelokastro - if you´re a EU-citizen under 25, you get free entry. Everyone else pays some euros. It´s worth it! Angelokastro is one of the highest locations on the island which means that you´ll get a stunning perspective over Corfu!

2. Monastry of Paleokastrita - this cloister is free for everyone, you can leave a donation if you like to. Please note that every gender needs to cover their knees and shoulders. But don´t worry: if you haven´t anything with you, you get a skirt and cloth for free. Monatry´s garden blooms with colorful flowers and offers a beautiful look.

3. Cape Drastis - definitely come here for sunset (or sunrise if you’re an early bird πŸ™Š).

3 vegan food stops πŸ₯‘

1. Bizou CafΓ© in Corfu Town - this one has a completely huge vegan menu and is quite a hidden gem! Come here for rather cheap, super delicious food, cozy vibes and lovely owners!

2. Ilo Ilo - snacks like burger, sandwiches and stuff. It´s a pleasure to recommend this food place as I really want to support the lovely owner! He told us that many people asked him for vegan options, so he created some options for the vegan travel community.

3. Glifada casual food - no Instagram worthy, fancy, exclusive place. The name speaks for itself: casual food. Come here if you´re fine sitting in front of a little kiosk, eating simple greek food out of a cute short vegan menu but for such cheap prices! We payed for two vegan souflaki pitas around 5€ per person!

So these are my TOP 3 of the greek island Corfu!
